Ditmas Park Medical Care is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, magnification, keyboard-only navigation, or who have color-vision differences, motor impairments, or who are browsing on a phone with a slow connection.

Standard we work to

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. The United States Department of Health and Human Services requires covered healthcare organizations to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA for web content and mobile applications. These dates are May 11, 2027 for organizations with 15 or more employees, and May 10, 2028 for organizations with fewer than 15 employees.

What we have done on this site

• Every page has a single, descriptive heading and a clear structure, so screen readers can navigate by heading level.
• There is a “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page, so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
• All text and background color combinations meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required for body text.
• Interactive controls are designed with a tap target of at least 24 by 24 pixels, and larger on touch screens, except links inside a sentence, which are exempt under WCAG 2.2.
• The navigation works with a keyboard alone, and the focus indicator is always visible.
• The public site has no forms that collect personal information. Scheduling is by phone or through the patient portal, and both are reachable without JavaScript.
• All images have descriptive alternative text, except images that are purely decorative, which are marked as such.
• Pages reflow to a 320-pixel-wide screen without page-level horizontal scrolling. A wide data table, such as the cookie table in the Privacy Policy, scrolls inside its own labeled region.
• We respect the “reduce motion” setting in your device, so animation is switched off when you ask for it.
• The site does not require JavaScript to read any content. If scripts are blocked, the mobile menu is shown as a plain list of links, the questions and answers still open, and the scheduling links still work.

Limitations we know about

The appointment page provides a phone number and a link to the patient portal. We do not collect appointment requests through this website. If you need to share detailed medical information, use the patient portal or call the office so that your information is protected.

If we publish documents in PDF format, they may come from third-party software and may not yet be fully accessible. Please call us and we will provide the information in an alternative format.
